Santa Pola is attractive to Europeans looking to settle here because of its proximity to Alicante airport and kilometres of sandy beaches along the coast. Driving north along the coast, you will find the well-known towns: Javea, Altea and Calpe.

Santa Pola is also a working town that remains busy in winter, unlike some seaside resorts that become largely deserted in the off-season. Although it is close to the larger resort of Torrevieja, there is a more Spanish atmosphere compared to other coastal areas.
